We serve the Annandale, Alexandria, and Falls Church communities in Virginia by providing opportunities to learn and play little league teeball and baseball for boys and girls ages 4-12.
The following are training opportunities outside of MDLL:
Founded by former MDLL player and alumni, Rob Riley, Research & Development Baseball Academy is designed for the demands of serious baseball players who want to become elite pitchers and catchers. Check them out on the web at: www.rdbaseballacademy.com or .
HitTrax System: A powerful combination of analytics and entertainment that has never before been available to indoor facilities. Patent pending technology delivers innovation to the baseball industry by measuring real-time data and displaying live results for immediate feedback. Analyze key performance metrics (exit velocity, launch angle, along with high-speed video of your swing) to identify tendencies before stepping onto the field.
Pitching Program: All too often, young athletes pitch too frequently and neglect their overall athletic and throwing abilities. R&D Baseball takes a long-term approach to developing our pitchers. Our progressive training methods have a proven track record of increasing velocity, improving pitching performance and reducing injuries.
R&D Baseball provides comprehensive training in all facets of catching, throwing and pitch selection. The program enables catchers to develop their throwing ability and improve their overall rotational athleticism and power. Our staff helps catchers learn how to work with pitchers to set up and attack hitters. R&D Baseball provides catchers with the unique opportunity to catch bullpens for many of the area’s finest pitchers on a regular basis.

Luke Skinner, former JV Baseball Coach at Bishop O'Connell High School. Skinner finished second in batting average in Western Pennsylvania hitting .660 and was a 3-time all section player at Serra Catholic before playing collegiate baseball at Washington and Jefferson College. He also worked with Baseball Performance Camps (in Pittsburgh, PA) where he studied and taught the proper mechanics of a major league baseball swing. In 2007, Skinner completed a degree in psychology from Villanova University which led to interest in how the mental game impacts athletic performance. Hitting sessions incorporate mental aspects into the physical training of the swing.
